Jeremy Thom apprenticed as a
lighting designer at London’s Covent Garden Opera House in the early 1970s and studied
engineering, design and erection techniques of Tensile and Pneumatic structures
at the same time. His emphasis shifted to outdoor stage and special event
design, site design and planning, and thence to the creation and production of
all types of stage sets and custom structures initially for rock’n’roll bands
during the early days of touring productions in the late 1970s and early
1980s.
Jeremy has practiced on both sides of the Atlantic and worked in countries throughout the world. Through his travels he has become familiar with many different methods of construction, a diverse array of building materials and local code issues, and accumulated contacts for and formed relationships with a wealth of skilled individuals, workshops and vendors. He has developed a reputation for creating idiosyncratic yet practical solutions to complex design criteria, and has coupled this with a passion for detail in both the creative development and execution of projects.
Jeremy moved to the USA from London in 1987 and now lives and works in Westchester County, just north of New York City.
